My first babysitter

Mom and Dad had a date night on Saturday. I got to stay at Grandma and Grandpa Moriarty's They did a wonderful job as my first babysitters! Mom trusted them so much that she didn't even call half way through the night. Mom and Dad said that they enjoyed the evening away! However, I know they were happy to see me, because they were fighting over who got to hold me first! I don't mind them going out without me as long as they leave me with such good babysitters!

The picture to the left is actually from Tuesday 2/16. Grandpa Fig gave me a tractor to play with (see center of picture) so we took a photo with me, the tractor and Grandpa in his Farmall sweatshirt! Grandpa is working on how he is going to have me safely strapped into the tractor for Spring and Fall farm work.

Baby Shower

Mom's co-workers threw me my first baby shower. I was hit! She has wonderful friends who didn't set me down for a minute. They game me tons of compliments! They say I have my mom's nose, but I look like my Daddy. I guess I am the perfect combination of both! They were very generous as well. I know have my lamb themed cradle and swing-Daddy calls it "Dolly" after the cloned lamb. I also got a bouncy chair, lots of pink clothes, a pack-n-play, toys and so much more. I don't even know how to say thank you...I guess mom is going to have to thank them for me. I was so tuckered out from my day that I slept for 8 straight hours that night. Mom was nervous when she woke up at 6 and I hadn't make a peep. She came into my room to make sure I was breathing. She is such a worrier, I was just tired.

Oh, I forgot to tell you that I almost rolled over on Thursday. I got all the way from my tummy to my right side. I simply needed to shift my weight to my left shoulder and I would have been over! I'll keep working on it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Check out our Family Photo! It was my first St. Patrick's day. Daddy kept talking about a green beer, but I guess I am a bit young for something like that. Grandma Barb gave us the cutest card...it has a picture of me on the outside. (O.K. it isn't really me, but has a striking similarity with my spikey red hair!

Daddy Day Care

On Wednesday, March 17 Daddy was in charge. Mom went to class for the day so I just hung out with Daddy. We did some of daddy's homework, played video games and went for a walk. Uncle Thomas threw a curve ball at Dad because he had a house showing for the day. Not only did Daddy have to watch me, but he had to make sure we kept the house clean and weren't home when the potential buyers came through.

Mom says that he did a great job! Both Grandma's had to call Wednesday evening to see how Daddy did. Silly grandmas...Daddy is a great daddy!

Happy Birthday Immy!

O.K. yesterday we spent the day thinking about how we were supposed to be going into have a baby...yesterday (3-10-10) was our scheduled C-section date! Well that was mom's plan anyway. I am my own person so I turned two weeks old today (3-11-10). Happy Birthday to me! Dad wonders why mom is wishing me a happy birthday, he must not realize that two weeks is a long time for me. I continue to sleep most of the time. I usually have a 2-4 hour wakeful period during the day and then another about 1AM. I have been taking my formula really well, so Mom and Dad are letting me be in control of my own hunger at night. I just fuss a bit and Mom comes to my rescue. Dad on the other hand, continues to snore. Sometimes our dog Beulah checks in as well!

Next week is a big week at our house. We have plans almost every day! It will be an adventure! The most exciting happen on Friday. Mom's work friends are having a baby shower and then Dad's best friend Ben and his fiancee Maggie are coming to visit! I am sure I will have plenty of stories to share!

Going for a walk

It was a beautiful day on Saturday so Mom asked Dad if we could go on a family walk. It turns Dad wanted to go for a walk on Friday, but Mom said I wasn't old enough. I guess, one day makes a big difference when you are only 9 days old! I think Mom is getting stir crazy! They got me in my car seat/stroller. Mom wanted to make sure I was warm so she bundled me up with warm clothes and an extra blanket It turns out that the car seat cover that Grandma Barb gave me keeps me pretty warm! I was sweating by the time I got home! I hope Mom figures out temperature balance at some point!
